Hi guys, welcome to this new UDOO tutorial. Today we are going to show how to set up LVDS displays on UDOO. This procedure
has to be made only one time for your operating system. You will have to repeat it only in case you’ll change it. To
configure UDOO you’ll need to make sure that you have the latest UBOOT and Kernel (if you don’t, you can use the easy updete procedure located at http://www.udoo.org/update-procedure/).

You’ll also need an external PC connected to Udoo via a serial USB cable. You can check our previous tutorial to understand how to do it.
Once you’ve everything up and running, we are ready to go.

So, let’s start. Set up UDOO as you would normally do. Then connect the serial USB Cable to Udoo and turn it on by plugging
the Power Supply.

From your computer, hit a key before normal boot starts up and type the right parameters for your Operating system and LVDS
panel.

The default Variable, which outputs to HDMI is:

For the 15” panel:

For the 7” panel:

For your convenience, here you can find a comprehensive list of all the combinations and corresponding strings:
15″ with Linux:

15″ with Android:

7″ with Linux:
7″ with Android:
HDMI with  Linux:
HDMI with Android:
At the next boot the video source will return to default configuration, unless you save it with the command:

To resume normal boot, you can then launch the command:

In Android you can also make boot UDOO from both HDMI and a LVDS panel at the same time by inserting this variables in a different frame buffer:
e.g. boot on lvds 7″ and hdmi.

You can also recalibrate your touch panel, in order to achieve better poiting performances. To do that you can edit  the text file:

with this text:

If the calibration is not good enough you can also connect a mouse to UDOO and launch the “Calibrate Touchscreen” application from the top bar:
Or via Terminal with:

and follow the video instructions to recalibrate your touch panel.

That’s it! If you need more assistance or simply report what you achieved with Udoo and LVDS panels, our Forum is waiting for you!
