    Thanks Laura!

Do you know when will the images and installation procedures be available?

Unsure when Ubuntu images will become available.
For Windows 7, you'll have to create your own by downloading the disc ISO from Microsoft, and using a programme like Rufus.

Also, you'll have to install the operating systems listed onto an external SATA drive or removable media, as the eMMC on the X86 is not large enough.

Windows 7 works, but you have to download drivers first from the Intel website. You will have to follow a guide like this one:
Windows 10 instead works out of the box.

eMMC is not supported for Windows 7 booting. However, the M.2 Sata SSD would be just fine for windows 7.

Could you upload tutorial videos to your youtube channel about the OS installations?

    - Win7 to SDcard, SATA HDD/SSD, M2 SSD
    - Win10 to SD card, SATA HDD/SSD, M2 SSD
    - Ubuntu to SD card, SATA HDD/SSD, M2 SSD
    - Remix OS to SD card, SATA HDD/SSD, M2 SSD

    Thank you.

    Hi @Viktor,
so far we haven't shot any tutorial video for UDOO X86, nor we are going to do it before putting UDOO X86 on sale.
I'm sorry, I guess you got to wait a bit!
Also, you don't need this info now, do you?
    Best regards

"Also, you don't need this info now, do you?"

I exactly want to know which systems can run on this board.
So I think if you upload some demonstration videos about Udoo x86 and operation systems the customers can easily choose from single board computers.

Sorry Viktor, I imagined you were a backer. We are receiving many requests for info by backers. Anyway, we'll release tutorials and stuff once the board is available on sale.
    Cheers

    No, I'm not a backer. I want to be a preorderer. :p
But I want to use Win7 instead of Win10.

It is a huge request to upload some tutorial videos or guides to install win7 to microSD of Udoo x86 ? ( if its possible, sometimes I think it is only a 'promo' and not a real option )

    Hi @Viktor,
I don't know if you've checked our latest updates on Kickstarter. In case you haven't here they are: kickstarter.com/projects/udoo/udoo-x86-the-most-powerful-maker-board-ever/updates
Point is, we won't make any tutorial for UDOO X86 before the shipping of UDOO X86.
    It would be pointless.
Also, UDOO X86 works as a standard desktop PC. Meaning that, if you can do it with a standard desktop PC you can do it the very same way with UDOO X86. So there's no need for tutorials like this. You can just Google for general information.
Any difference from a standard desktop PC will be of course documented.

The Intel Windows 7* USB 3.0 Creator Utility can be downloaded at this link:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/25476/Windows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility?httpDown=https://downloadmirror.intel.com/25476/eng/Win7-USB3.0-Creator-V3-Win7Admin.zip. The ZIP-file contains a PDF ReadMe file that details three methods of inserting the Intel USB3 drivers into the Win7 installation SD card:

"The Windows 7 USB 3.0 Creator Utility automates the steps to update a Windows 7 installation
image so that it contains USB 3.0 drivers...
    "

At the bottom of the ReadMe is a suggested workaround if the USB3 ports are unresponsive during the Windows7 installation:

When the “Install Windows” message appears for the first time, disconnect and reconnect the USB mouse and keyboard. The devices will be reinitialized.

I do not believe that Windows will let you install to the SD card. It will install fine to the eMMC or SSD devices.

Even if you CAN get Windows to install to the SD I would expect performance to be terrible, and the SD lifetime to be rather short due limited number of write cycles a SD supports.
