I've a quad version of the UDOO running on debian Wheezy armHF on a 12V power supply and when I touch the heatsink, it seems a bit hot when the CPU is idle.. the ambient temp is around 28-30C ...

I'm using the command below to check the temp and it gives me around 45C on average ...
    Code:
    cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp

    1. Is this CPU too high for idle state ?

    2. What are the commands to put the unused cores to sleep like on an Android phones ?

    Thanks

I would say that sounds about right .
At this time in my room it is 18.4c , and my udoo is not total idle , but it`s running a firmata test script for the last day + 4 hours and webmin says 90% idle.

my idle state is true idea !!!! , It`s Debian without any gui / server and scripts running.

    /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp - shows 46c

I`ve tried compiling a kernel native and was monitoring the temp which stopped at 56c max , that`s with 100% all cores for nearly a hour.
