Yes, cubox is using 4.4 version. Just few days one guy used even 4.9. But because of very low imx6 users I don't do much...

Probably issue already noticed with 4.4 kernel where black screen happen. There is no solution.
I'm sure there are lot of changes in kernel v4. And I already using 3 different versions of them. But not for Udoo because I had some issues...
One thing not to forget: Udoo X86 started development in last quarter of 2015.
