I haven't worked much with *nix for a while and am wanting to use the udoo as a platform to help my son learn programming. I am thinking he could get excited about learning python using Minecraft Pi and the material referenced here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/4595 http://pi.minecraft.net/

It looks like the Pi edition of Minecraft is optimized for Raspbian. A couple of noob questions: Could I run it in Ubuntu? If not, can I run it on the debian version for udoo?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Jan, have a look at viewtopic.php?f=18&t=225&p=2201&hilit=minecraft#p2201

In essence yes you can run minecraft. It's such a popular thing that I'm sure someone around here can write a 'how to' in the next couple of weeks. People have only just got theirs, and others are waiting their delivery over the next couple of weeks so it will hardly be surprising if people concentrate on the unwrapping and initial excitement first.

I'd love to hear a positive feedback here. It would be great to have Minecraft on UDOO!
