    hello,

i'm trying to install a win10 from a disk on key onto an ssd.
the problem is when i get to the part where win 10 asks me where to install, no drives are there.
the weird thing is that the ssd is recognized by the bios no problem.

might it be a drivers issue?
    i'm using SanDisk ssd plus.

    thanks!

Do you have anything on the eMMC? I found that I needed to delete any partitions there so that Windows could create a small UEFI related partition before it would install to the SSD.

By default there is the small partition left by the QA process, maybe that needs to be deleted first?

i didn't put anything there but it might be something the installer did automatically. is there any way to verify?

Check this discussion, appearantly you have to set the SSD as default boot disk.

Have you checked whether it is even being seen at the BIOS level? It should show up as a SATA device.

    UPDATE:
    - i switched my usb stick to a usb HDD which was turned into a bootable win 10 installation
    - i formatted and re-partitioned my SSD (http://www.partition-tool.com/resou...-new-partition-or-locate-an-existing-one.html)
    - i set my SSD as first in boot order (essential)

but then after restart, my usb HDD wasn't recognized anymore.
so i tried reconnecting it which worked but lead somehow to the ssd not being first in boot anymore.
i just can't get both to work together.

so i installed my win 10 into the onboard flash for now. pff..
