Udoo Bolt 8 will not post if NVMe drive installed in m.2 key M slot.

System powers on and shows splash screen and / options and A0 in the bottom right.
I have tried using the Crucial P310 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD. I have verified the Crucial works in my Dell desktop.

Ocassionaly (every few days), after shutting down Windows, or Linux, Udoo Bolt does not boot any more till hardware reset of bios.

It boots until B4/A0 phase (right lower corner of screen) then hangs. It's not possible to boot. It's not possible to enter bios either (sic!)

If I do bios manual reset using switch on the board ( BIOS default recovery switch), the udoo boots properly, without ANY changes to windows/linux/disk mechanism.

I suspect this is some kind of bug in the firmware...

Dear all,

has anybody managed to power-up the internal embedded controller on the udoo bolt V8?
I can't access it. And as such: no CEC, and no IR.
Does anybody have these problems as well? I work with a 6.18 kernel. the EC ACPI object is not exposed.
Where does it live?

I'd consider The board worked great up until today. I had been powering it with USB C PD. I went to power it on and the light remained yellow (Arduino light was flashing) and a high pitched whine alternates its tone with the blinking of the Arduino LED. Hello,

I want to control the energy of USB3.0 and Arduino Leonardo processor on the Udoo Bolt V8 board. When I turn off the pc with the power button, I see the 5V_OUT voltage as 5v.

Is there any way to control the energy on these ports when the pc is turned off?

I did not see such a setting in the BIOS. I am waiting for your help.

No sound from connector CN12

Two HDMIs are working and have sound but there is nothing from the analog connector part of CN12. The optical part has not been tested. The selection "Digital Output (S/PDIF) - Family 17h (Models 10h-fh1) HD Audio Controller" is chosen in the Settings. I have UDOO BOLT V8, Ubuntu 22.04.

I've resurrected a "dead" Bolt that looks to have the original kickstarter fan, anyone have a recommendation for a good replacement? In addition, I'd like to change out the thermal paste, but not sure how to go about fully removing the heat sink.

I got it to upload but not without a constant spam of error messages out of the terminal. If I leave the IDE open for more than a few minutes it will freeze and stop working. This is related to the constant 1000 character per second error message I assume. I will post some of the error message. The code uploaded does not work, but the IDE will return it succesfully uploaded.

It is not powering on (turning on) when power is switched on. Only a orange led is blinking.

There is not enough power, I can't even install windows 10 with USB stick + Logitech dongle inserted in those ports without my keyboard and mouse disconnecting
I probably gonna sell my Bolt v8, only thing they told me why you not using usb-c ports in the back.

It is very strange my phone can do SSD / mechanic hard drive without issue.

Any success USB-C docking unit that can work with Bolt for power pass-thru?

I've tried three different ones and none works.
One of the unit I know the reason (only supports up to 15V PD pass-through, a.k.a. USB-C charging mode while Bolt needs 20V 3A so I know it will not work.)

One recent bought unit (spec. stated supports PD Charging mode up to 100W and works for Macbook Pro 2018), I thought it would take care of it (means that it should be able to successful negotiate with the upstream BOLT on the PD 20V 3A profile) but unfortunately it is not.

I'm going to be hitting the UDOO Bolt v8 hard and I've already had it shut down three times on me today...

I think this is to do with fan/cooling settings - where the udoo defaults to a desktop mode where CPU draw is low. I've read the fan settings guide... but to be honest i'm more confused after reading them...
