I received my x86 Ultra a few weeks ago (Happy face -WOW) but, I chose to order the Transcend M.2 128gb SSD from B&H in the USA. When it arrived the part was actually a ts100 - 100gb. The packaging was marked incorrectly and I believe B&H was not at fault. I sent it back and ordered the Samsung EVO850 to replace it. I ultimately decided the space considerations were no longer a concern. Just a note to beware or option to the 2.5 SATA drive and achieve better performance.

What better performance did you get? Is througput higher by default between the M2 and Sata connector? Or are the SSD's better spec'ed?

Either M.2 SATA or regular SATA port will connect to the Braswell the same way.
So the difference is the actually in SSD spec, not the interface types.

The better performance is based on the difference between the two drives and not the port as css_hello correctly states. Also, I believe I am correct in saying the only advantage to using the M.2 port is a sharp reduction in the dimensions of your storage device.
