I have burned Ubuntu into a USB flash. I have a sd card in the sd card slot, however once I get to partitioning the target drive to install ubuntu on, the sd card doesn't seem to show up. Can I install into the sd card or do I need to get an external sata?

You should be able to install to sd card.

How big the sd card is - you might need at least 16 GB. (There was a thread earlier that 8 GB eMMC wasn't large enough to install Ubuntu.)

Also do you have at least BIOS version 1.02, earlier versions had problems with sd cards.

    Dear Paulo Matos
I have successfully installed Ubuntu 64bit 17.04 in a 64GB MicroSD. UdooX86 can either boot directly from the microSD or by M2 Debian 9.1 GRUB or by Ubuntu 64bit 17.04 Grub installed on SATA disk (another installation). This GRUBS identify the MicroSD with UUID.

I am trying to install ubuntu server 17.04 64bit.

My SD card is 64bit and currently is formatted with one fat32 partition. I have a usb pen drive with ubuntu server 17.04 image. I get to partitioning setup but the only drive showing to partition is the pen drive itself. The sd card doesn't show.

    Dear Paulo Matos

I have installed in Legacy mode and MBR.
Try in legacy and look again otherwise I don't know why you don't see the MicroSD.

OK, I need to update the firmware. I noticed that someone on another thread had the same issue I did and upding the bios worked.
