thanks for the great picture!

I have a question but it can be an optical illusion.
The USB and Ethernet Plug is placed about 1-2mm across the border. It´s perfect to desing as Case.
But it seems that the audio jack is placed more to the rear.

Is it ?

only thing that seems to be missing on that image is the wifi module.
since it seems to be a quad board, since it has a sata port..
what are all the jumpers and ports for?

it shouldnt. its lower than the headers.

 

It could if you have some larger components mounted under the shield but you can fix that with extra tall stacking headers on your shield.

Is this the aluminum heat sink? Wouldn't a copper one be better?

 

yes and no ...

the thermal resistance of copper is better but the free convection of copper is worse.
the second point is that copper cost mutch more then alluminium and the handling of copper is not so easy.
