HI ! I want to use I2s to connect a ES9023 dac to the board. But I don't find the GPIO for I2S and no answer in there forum. I can see in the schematics "digital audio RXC, TXC, RXFS,TXFS, etc" but which is the equivalent of LRCLK, BCLK, Data, MCLKIN ? best regards
To be able to extract i2s signal, you should enable the GPIOs by recompiling the kernel, here are some info: https://community.freescale.com/message/392697#392697 i2s-bit-perfect-digital-audio-output-t1088.html http://volumio.org/forum/volumio-runnin ... -t740.html Anyway, once you'll activate the GPIOs you'll need a driver for the exact DAC you want to use... So as of now this is quite unfeasible As for S PDIF, here are instructions to get it working got-spdif-working-t1611.html
Thank you for your answer, I have seen this thread for i2s but I don't know if it's work. Do you know if volumio kernel is already complied for S/PDIF or I2S ?
It is compiled with i2s support, but you still need to find a driver for your specific DAC. And I don't think it exists...
Hello everyone, I am also interested in getting audio out of UDOO using I²S protocol. Assuming we enable UDOO's GPIOs to properly deliver I²S, we would still need a DAC with UDDO drivers... what about Curryman's DAC also based on the ESS Tech ES9023? http://www.minidsp.com/products/minidsp ... an-i2s-dac
