    Hello,

I have a 2nd UDOO x86 now, and unlike the first I didn't get the M.2 SSD and am trying to install a linux OS onto the 32G eMMC. Each time it comes up with no disks to install on! I've tried Centos 7, Fedora 26, and even the slimbuntu referenced in the udoo manual. I've also looked at the following links:

    https://www.udoo.org/docs-x86/Software_&_OS_Distro/Linux.html
    https://www.udoo.org/forum/threads/emmc-drive-not-recognized-by-centos7.7600/

I've also tried changing the BIOS settings for EFI or legacy for the eMMC, but to no avail.

Any pointers would be appreciated! Thanks!

When you boot e.g. Ubuntu live and run lsblk from a terminal, does it show a mmcblk0?

Thanks for replying. Booting with Ubuntu 17.04 in live mode, lsblk returns:
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
    loop0 7:0 0 1.5G 1 loop /rofs
    sda 8:1 1 15G 0 disk disk /cdrom
    sda1 8:1 1 1.5G 0 part
    sda2 8:2 1 2.3M 0 part

    also, dmesg | grep mmc:
mmc0: SDHCI controller on ACPI [...] using ADMA
mmc1: SDHCI controller on PCI [ ... ] using ADMA

Booting into Centos and using CTL-ALT-F2 I do not see an mmc device either.

So it is not seeing the eMMC at all. Thanks.

Just a stupid question: did you order a Udoo X86 with eMMC? And did you receive one with eMMC? Are the chips there?

    There are Udoo's without eMMC.

And to complicate things "Advanced" in KickStarter had eMMC but when bought from UDOO website does not have.

Only "Advanced Plus" and "Ultra" have eMMC when bought from website.

Bingo! Thanks, that is exactly the difference. I had bought my first UDOO via kickstarter and the second Advanced directly from UDOO website. Thanks everyone for helping clear this up!
