Try a different cable? Attach it to another port? Just try to be 100% sure it is the udoo and not the cable or port the other end if the cable is plugged into.

He good morning, maybe I have the same problem that shinn , I have
installed e udoo_quad_ubuntu_1.3 on ubunto quad and everything seams
good except the ethernet connection (but whit wifi I have), for the
moment I haven’t way to have a link (I try also with different switch
connection and with static configuration no DHCP) and if I ask at the
system the situation with dmesg receive back this message ....

    udevd[2218]: renamed network interface wlan0 to wlan6
[ 4.752166] eth0: no PHY, assuming direct connection to switch
    [ 4.752180] PHY 0:00 not found
[ 4.755345] eth0: could not attach to PHY
[ 4.849665] init: failsafe main process (3001) killed by TERM signal
What do you think is software o hardware problem?

Hi, I also have a brand new Udoo Quad.
I have also Problems with the wired network.
    I tried udoo_quad_ubuntu_1.3 and udoo_quad_ubuntu_2.0

My log file says (dmesg | grep 'etho'):

eth0: no PHY, assuming direct connection to switch
eth0: could not attach to PHY

I need some help. It looks like the nic can not be found.

    Update:
I tried to run: ifconfig eth0 up

    My log file says:

    kernel BUG at include/linux/netdevice.h:520!
Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address
    ...
    Internal error: Oops: 817....
    Modules linked in: vivante drm
    CPU: 0 Not tained (3.0.35 #1)....
