    Hi out there,

I am planning to switch my current setup to a UDOO board.

Iam currently using an Arduino to control my Ambilight (boblight).
A Raspberry with I2S wo feed my DAC and Volumio
And a ION Board to operate XBMC.

My "dream" would be to combine this into an UDOO box.

But from what I read hear t is not possible. So maybe the Hummingboard might be a better board o wait for? There I hopefully can also use my miniPCIe Tner card and get rid of may additional NAS :)

Seems like a big showstopper for my setup would be the missing I2S support of the board.

    Someone has similar ideas?

You may be happy to know that I'm doing a project with boblight and Volumio on UDOO... The results are very promising so far... As for the i2s driver, as of now there are no option for it (and neither for the hummingboard...)
But I'll try asking to Florian, the guy who developed i2s drivers for the PI...
I'll keep you updated on the project, hope to release it very soon...

    Sounds good Mikelangeloz.

Thanks for the update. Would you give me a hint what are you planning?

Any news regarding the I2S driver?

    I'm interested in I2S too...

But I suppose you want volumio for listening music. Why don't you use MPD instead , with XBMC ?

xbmc=> xbmc remote on android=> HDMI=> home cinema for videos
    and
MPD=> mpdroid on android => s/pdif => DAC => hifi amplifier for music audiophile quality.

Is someone tried to use both xbmc an mpd ? I managed to make it work (MPD with analog green jack) but not anymore... need to verify parameters but it is possible. Using S/pdif or I2S/RJ45 would be a better way, of course.
