Few days ago we had a great discussion on twitter: https://twitter.com/MironixGaming/statu ... 2555484161

    What we've established:
    - There's no way to control backlight on the go, the gpio controlling the display is assigned to kernel at boot.

    The question are:
    - Is there a way to boot the device with display backlight off?
    - Can we do a hardware hack to switch the backlight on and off (page 11 of the schematic shows a pin on LVDS as BL_ON)

    Hi,

i suppose you can try to cut the relative signal cable with a switch. BL_ON activate the blacklight when the signal is high, so disconnecting it should be turn off the light.
I also suppose that you can control the backlight from another gpio connected to the board.
I never tested it. i'll try as son as possible.
