Can i use this sata cable?

Hi, i'm new to udoo, and i'm searching the right sata cable.

Can i use this one?



in the Udoo Quad there is a DC-IN connector or not?

There is. It's just behind the Gigabit Ethernet port.

Yep, that cable looks fine (as much as you can tell from a photo).

 

If the cable is for the Cubieboard, then it cannot be used as is. The cable in the photo has the data connector and the power connector for 5V DC only. The power connector of that cable is a JST -HX type which is the type used for J25 (DC-in 12V) on the Udoo but the SATA power connector (5V only) on the Udoo is J12 which is a JST-PH connector. The two types of JST connectors are very similar but just different enough to be not interchangeable. To use the cable you will have to replace the power connector with the right one - see the discussion in this post for details viewtopic.php?f=22&t=123.

Note: the cable in the photo does not have the 12V connector and can only power SATA disk that required only 5V supply.

 

It's possible to buy directly from SECO only the sata cable or i have to buy the entire starter kit? (i need only the sata cable)
