I have an application where it would be useful to play one audio stream via SP-DIF, and a second, unrelated one (periodic voice annoucements) via the analog output. Once the SP-DIF driver is ready, will it appear as a separate ALSA device to allow for independent streams like this? Or would the two simply mirror one another?

On many computer motherboards, this is easy to do since the analog codec appears as hw:0.0 and digital-out is hw:0.1.

I notice the HDMI audio channel (which I won't be using) does appear as an independent ALSA device already.
