When the Udoo X86 can be bought in the shop is a big mystery. The shop says in the next days for some weeks now. You as an Italian can interpret that better then me The Udoo X86 is a combination of a PC and an Arduino 101(CPU is Intel Curie). So the arduino hardware connections/ pinout is compatible. Also it can be programmed with the standard Arduino IDE. The difference between the various X86'S is only the PC part (processor, GPU, RAM, and eMMC (build in SD card)). The Arduino 101 part is the same in all X86'S. Edit, typos
Yes, you can add an extra Arduino to the PC side of the Udoo X86 if you want to, it has USB ports that are available fo that. But you perhaps don't need to as it has a build in Arduino 101. So if you now for example have a PC (or Raspberry Pi) and an Arduino Uno you can replace that with 1 Udoo X86. You have to take care of the 3.3V/5V difference between the Arduino 101 and Arduino Uno but it is very good possible. Edit, See also this page for more information: https://www.udoo.org/docs-x86/Arduino_101_(Intel_Curie)/Pinout.html
As far as I know UDOO X86 is protected against 5V overvoltage exactly like Arduino 101, so there shouldn't be this problem - isn't it, @Laura?
That is correct but connected devices could not work if they only get 3.3V instead of 5V Quote of the documentation:
Thanks to all And what can I do with an arduino connected to the Udoo x86? Grazie a tutti Cosa potrei fare con un arduino connesso all'Udoo x86?
You asked it yourself!! If you need extra functions that the build in Arduino cannot deliver (extra in- or outputs etc). Do you have a Arduino now? If so what are you doing with it now?
Grazie mille a tutti Ora che è disponibile credo che comprerò un Udoo x86 basic come regalo di compleanno Thanks to all Now that the udoo x86 is available I think I'll buy an Udoo x86 basic for my birthday
Yesterday with my dad we had to buy an udoo x86 basic, but the M.2 Wi-Fi Intel dual band ac Wi-Fi + BT 4.2 5ghz + antenna adhesive isn't available . When will they available?
@Laura Another confusing Stock /No Stock issue here..... Stock indicator is green but when you really want to add it to your shop basket it will say not available.
Another question : the Udoo x86 how many mini pci-e outputs does it have?
Fysically none. In the M.2 SSD and the sata connector there are 2 lanes used. There is a forum thread about converting the M.2 connector to a PCI-e connector. Edit: thread https://www.udoo.org/forum/threads/m-2-key-b-to-pci-express-adapter.6840/#post-28444
