When i play videos with Kodi in Fedora on the udoo x86 the cpu cores jumps to 100% and i get overheating issues 77-80C and past 80 it trhottles, it's really frustating and i don't know what to do about it :(

it does have kinda high cpu usage just idle in the desktop aswell, it jumps up to 50-60% usage and get around 60-68C.

Have you looked to see what processes are using all the CPU?

i've failed to see any process who could cause the cpu spike while idle tbh i really don't know what happend, but still should really kodi cause such huge load and causing these overheating problems.

i mean a raspberry pies handle HD movies in kodi without any significant load on cpu, why shouldn't this much stronger board?

Could be a problem with incorrect addressing of the GPU. When the CPU has to do all the work that the GPU should be doing you get these kind of issues.

Please try Kodi on Ubuntu 16.04.
