Any chance there might be a UDOO dual core with SATA, i.e., a board with a Freescale i.MX6 Dual instead of an i.MX6 DualLite? I need the large capacity of an mSATA stick, but I don't need the four cores of the Quad, and I don't want the power draw and heat. I saw mention of a smaller heat sink on the existing dual compared to the quad. For reliability, I would prefer the devices stay as cool as possible and without fans -- the more passive cooling, the better.

Not at the moment, the SATA connector is a feature you'll find only in UDOO Quad.

But when I looked at the picture of UDOO Dual I saw that holes for SATA connectors are ready. So what about I will solder SATA connector into UDOO dual? It is possible? Thanks

No, 'cause the processor doesn't support the SATA feature.
