There seem to be quite a few battery related questions popping up at random. There are many different battery technologies, each with their pros and cons/characteristics - such as: power density, weight, cost, Depth Of Discharge, Safe Rate of Charge, Safe Rate of Discharge, Self Discharge Rate, number of charge cycles etc. If anyone has any questions, battery related, ask here and we'll sort you out as best we can with answers/advice. Remember if you ask a question, please specify your requirements/scenario (EG a Flooded Lead Acid battery is good, but would weight several times your robot so wouldn't be appropriate even if it meets all other criteria). Note: Some battery technologies can be dangerous if not treated with respect (such as LiPo). Don't do anything silly! Personally I prefer LiFePo4 cells over LiPo they are little more stable the LiOn or LiPo. Also please keep in mind with batteries Discharge Curve This site has a lot of good info on batteries. http://www.mpoweruk.com/performance.htm. Also http://www.batteryspace.com/ Is a good place to get LiFePo4 cells most can be purchase with over discharge protection (needed to keep from damaging the cells.) Preliminary show it on mar with most similiar types, and its nice to have the 5v USB and 9v/12v output

I used a 9v battery on my udoo and now the usb doesn't work which renders the board useless as I cannot us it for serial communication.my board is a udoo neo
Hi all, I'm using an x86 that I want to use as a car pc... essentially what I'm intending is to run it on the car battery with a regulator so the voltage remains consistent. What I want to find out though, is there a way I can get the board to auto boot/suspend/shut down based on an input from acc? Cheers
