So as a person interested in the x86 board and a non-kick starter backer I do have a few question. First, any plans giving the pre-order customers status updates? I know the Kickstarter Updates do exist, however some of the updates are only visible to backers. I would assume pre-orders will not ship until late December... but most likely if I order today I doubt my order would ship until early January... but thats just conjecture on my part. Do the Basic and Advance boards ship with 8Gb of eMMC Storage? Or do they ship with no storage? The Kickstarter page does make mention of the 8GB onboard eMMC however the pro-order specs page doesn't mention that under the mass storage section. Also of slight interest to me is the boot method... does the board use CoreBoot or something else?
The provided eMMC storage was amended after the crowdfunding campaign - Backers will receive the capacity listed on the reward levels (and were offered an option to increase it for a fee). For pre-orders made now, only the Advanced Plus and Ultra include eMMC storage: http://www.udoo.org/udoo-x86/ The UEFI BIOS is InsydeH2O.
Dear @mitchejj, on Wednesday/Thursday we will have tested the new revision and we will give an update about the shipping to backers and those who have pre-ordered. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. For what concerns eMMC, the models with 8 GB of eMMC are Kickstarter exclusive, meaning that the models that can be pre-ordered now are those in the shops. In other words, now Basic and Advanced models don't have eMMC onboard - as you can see in the shop. For what concerns BIOS we use UEFI BIOS.
Thank you both for the info. @Andrea Rovai I suspected that was the case with the eMMC, just going back and forth between the store and the Kickstarter page I kind of last track of everything in my mental notes. (Just noticed the data sheet link on the store page today).
