I have got a big problem with my udoo quad. Suddenly after a boot my Ubuntu 12.04 does not detect my wifi interface. iwconfig lo no wireless extensions eth4: no wireless extensions usb0: no wireless extensions Please help me. It is important.
I tried to reinstall the system, but the problem remains. Is it a hardware problem ? Please help me. Thanks
Try to remove and reinsert the wifi module (it's just a screw behind the board). Let me know if everything got fixed after that.
No answer ? What is the name of the Ubuntu module load to manage wireless device ? lsmod: vivante drm nfsd exportfs lspci and lshw -C network give me nothing Thanks
When i look in dmesg, it seems that the wireless is managed by cfg80211. Why it does not appear in lsmod as in my PC ? Is it due to the Udoo boot method ?
After a lsusb in another Udoo quad where wireless seems to work i got this information aboout the wireless device Bus 002 Device 003: ID 148f:5370 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter After a dmesg | grep -i rt2 in thesame Udoo quad, i got [ 1.760324] usbcore: registered new interface driver rt2800usb [ 3.007215] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy0::radio [ 3.007355] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy0::assoc [ 3.007489] Registered led device: rt2800usb-phy0::quality So, it seems that the module which manages the wireless device is rt2800usb. Then, i went back to my platform which does not work. lsusb give me Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub no informations about wireless dmesg | grep -i rt2 [ 1.739847] usbcore: registered new interface driver rt2800usb no registered led device I tried to load rt2800usb with modprobe -v rt2800usb the command runs without an error and lsmod does not change Module Size Used by vivante 943 1 drm 141896 2 vivante nfsd 62470 0 exportfs 3032 1 nfsd What does that mean ? The hardware is it broken ? How can i do to really load rt2800usb module ? Please, Udoo Designer, help me to understand what really happen. Thanks.
A couple of things just to be sure is the problem is the Wifi Module ore the Board: - Switch the sd cards between the 2 UDOOs and see if something changes. - Switch the wifi modules. If the new wifi module works you have functioning board (and a broken wifi module) while if it doesn't you have a broken board. In both cases you should open a ticket in our customercare section and ask for a RMA of your damaged UDOO: http://www.udoo.org/customer-care/
Thanks delba, - switching sd cards between the 2 Udoo: nothing changes - switching the wireless module from the working to not working Udoo: nothing changes - switching the wireless module from not working to working Udoo: works conclusion: the board is broken.
Yep! Sorry about that. As i already said you need to ask for a RMA here: http://www.udoo.org/customer-care/
