When I plug in my Neo it boots, lsusb shows it (Bus 003 Device 002: ID 1d6b:0104 Linux Foundation Multifunction Composite Gadget). However it does not create a network connection, as it is 'unmanaged' ("onbeheerd"), whatever that means. I notice that the same goes for my normal ethernet connection, if I plug in a cable it neither accepts it as a network connection.

    enp0s20u1: onbeheerd "SECO-AIDILABiProduct=UDOONEO Multifunction Composite Gadget" ethernet (rndis_host), 22:E1:FB:64:A5:B2, hw, mtu 1500
eth0: onbeheerd "Qualcomm Atheros Killer E220x Gigabit Ethernet Controller" ethernet (alx), 44:8A:5B:6F8:57, hw, mtu 1500

If I go to the system settings in the user interface, the user interface also says 'not managed', but no clue to turn it on again.

I reinstalled Ubuntu, as I didn't know how to solve this. If I now connect my Neo the system shows Wired Connection 2, the board shows up as a USB drive, but Ubuntu 17 doesn't seem to connect with it.

Anybody using 16.04LTS? I just installed 16.04LTS, and no luck there either.

No solution to offer. For the record: you are trying to connect your Neo with USB Direct connection with a PC that has Ubuntu 16.04 or 17.04 installed?

Did you switch USB cables? Switch USB port? Try with a powered USB hub. Switch USB power save off in settings or bios?

The answers is yes, in various forms.

I had 17.04 upgraded over 16.04, then reinstall with fresh 17.04, then resinstall with fresh 16.04.
