Hi everyone, I have an old lvds 20 pin lcd of a laptop and I would like to know if it would work connected directly to the UDOO lvds port or if I need an adapter. Have a nice weekend.
I would think it would at the very least need a custom cable/adaptor. I bought a lvds to hdmi converter off ebay for the laptop lcd I had lyin around for my rpi... works great
Hi Firehopper, I suppose I will need a LVDS adapter cable 20 pin->24 pin, but I have been searching on the Internet and I haven't found it.
good luck searching. I think a hdmi to lcd adaptor would be cheaper, mine cost me $40, and another 10 for the lcd power brick.
Depends on the kind of LVDS. The UDOO LVDS is only single-channel, which restricts the resolution to a maximum of 1366x768. If the screen has a higher resolution than that, it won't work and you have to use one of the mentioned HDMI adapters. Now that the schematic of the UDOO has been released, you can look at the pin configuration and make an adapter yourself (if you know the pin configuration of your screen, which could be a problem).
Please do! I want to use it as well! Also wonder or there is a way to connect it to a s-video device.. exploring my options
