Hi@all, I am new to udoo, have some experiences with Raw Arduino's (uno, micro), Rasperry PIs and working with Microcontrollers as a hobby since the 80c535 So I bought a used udoo dual board to see the capabilities as I like the concept. But... The first issue I got is that it boots only once successful from SD (two cards tested). I get a screen over hdmi and can use it with the linux system I downloaded from udoo site. But if I try a reboot I get only the short udoo screen and nothing more. Resets don't help, the short udoo screen here as well. If I wait a little time (15-30 Mins) the board is able to boot, but reboots don't work again. Looks to me like a temperature problem. The second issue, serial debugging isn't working. Windows 7/10 (on two computers tested) doesn't recongnize any new hardware on CN6 if I connect this port to the PC. J18 and J2 are set, J16 and J22 are open. Is the board maybe broken? Thanks Veni
Perhaps something on the Arduino side (completely separate CPU) is preventing the linux side to reboot. Try to reset the Arduino side ( use the jumpers).
Here are the instructions to reset arduino http://www.udoo.org/docs/Arduino_DU...Programming_Arduino_Due_from_External_PC.html Regarding the serial debug: is jumper 18 connected?
Hi waltervl, thanks for your fast response. After reseting the arduino part (first shorten J16, second J22) the System reboots and starts as expected. Problem #1 solved, thanks J18, the one behind the "RST" button is set, still no new devices shown at PC site. Thx again Veni
...successfully uploaded "blink" from the internal Arduino IDE to the SAM Chip. This connection works, the LED "blinks". Veni
Good news! I am not so familiar with the dual and have no idea why your pc is not recognizing the dual Usb. Perhaps it is as simple as trying another cable?
You wrote it Three cables tested, all not working Looks like USB cables only for charging Mobiles. I found another USB Cable at work which works perfectly --snipp-- U-Boot 2015.10-00061-g68849f9 (Jan 08 2016 - 17:01:43 +0100) CPU: Freescale i.MX6DL rev1.1 at 792 MHz Reset cause: POR Board: UDOO DualLite DRAM: 1 GiB MMC: FSL_SDHC: 0 *** Warning - bad CRC, using default environment auto-detected panel HDMI Display: HDMI (1024x768) In: serial Out: serial Err: serial Net: using phy at 6 FEC [PRIME] Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0 switch to partitions #0, OK mmc0 is current device reading uEnv.txt 52 bytes read in 10 ms (4.9 KiB/s) --snipp-- The CRC Message is a warning, no error, correct ?
