Hello there, Udoo team told us that stable XBMC portage will begin after the release of UdooBuntu 1.0, so I guess we will see something soon. What I can already see is other boards getting official support or, at least, a working product. * TBS 2910 Matrix have OpenElec http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/08...upport-dvb-tsc-dvr-and-iptv-server-functions/. This device seems very close to Udoo quad. I asked if their work could apply to udoo and a developper is interested to try if he could received a board (http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/08...dvr-and-iptv-server-functions/#comment-234985 * Cuboxi have official support of XBMC http://www.solid-run.com/xbmc/ * Wandboard quad seems to work, thanks to Stephan Rafin's work * EzeeCube looks very promising http://www.ezeecube.com/ * Utilite and Cubieboard have official Geexbox support http://www.geexbox.org/ * Odroid-u2 http://hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G135341370451 and u3 http://hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G138745696275 * Pandaboard http://pandaboard.org/ via Geexbox * Probably others, I will update the list later So I have bought an udoo quad board after seeing it on the download page and on the forum. What the udoo community could expect in the following days, weeks ? [Update] 18/08/2014 : added Odroid and Pandaboard
+1 !!!!! we need xbmc support, we need news about developpement. When i bought the UDOO i hesitate with the cubox. The hardware of the UDOO is clearly better but the XBMC support is so bad, i'm really disapointed.
Looking as well.... the latest version of Yocto XBMC is jerky/video hash with MKV containers. Some videos are worse than others..... Playing from a local server(all Blu Ray videos) with 1GB HP switch. I'm hoping it is just a matter of "tweaking" the OpenGL drivers.... In the process of learning how to compile software for the UDOO PCB...
Dear guys, understand your disappointment about current XBMC\OpenElec status on UDOO. As we promised, after the 1.0 UDOOBuntu Release we started a close contact with OpenElec developers, sending them some UDOO boards to play with. We got some news today and you can expect official OpenElec releases for UDOO soon. For those who doesn't know, OpenElec is THE distribution for XBMC. This means an highly optimized XBMC system (no glitches, flash to SD Card and its ready), for QUAD and DUAL platforms. For those waiting for XBMC, you won't regret to have a UDOO. We'll keep you posted about that.
Sounds good ! You can also see the good work done by notxarb : http://www.udoo.org/forum/post10024.html#p10024 | http://www.udoo.org/forum/post10034.html#p10034. It's working quite well for me but others have problems.
